Grand Cherokee beats the Ford Edge, Kia Sorento, Toyota Venza and more in judged contest
The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, now available at Hodge Dodge, was recently named the winner of the USA Today/Cars.com Midsize SUV Challenge. Judges for the 6 car contest include experts from USA Today, Cars.com, Motorweek and real American families. The prices for the tested models were capped at $38,000 though you can find Grand Cherokees well below that prices on our lot at Hodge Dodge. After selecting the six competing vehicles – 2013 Ford Edge, 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2014 Kia Sorento, 2013 Nissan Murano, and 2013 Toyota Venza – the SUVs were put to the test. The testing was done over three days of carefully monitored driving with many different drivers. The fuel consumption was carefully monitored to calculate real world gas mileage from each midsize SUV.
After completing the testing, our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee was named the winner. The testers enjoyed the luxurious interior of the Jeep Grand Cherokee noting “A luxury liner compared to the challengers…” and “Looks, feels, even smells like a luxury car…” Cars.com noted our Jeep Grand Cherokee had “Best multimedia system of the bunch” and a “Commanding view of the road…” that I know our Paris, TX customers will appreciate. The Jeep did not test highest in MPG, but made up for it with the power the V-6 eight speed transmission provides. In naming the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee the best midsize SUV, Cars.com said “The one to have if you are looking for a true SUV and not merely a car-like tall wagon.” We think our Texas and Oklahoma customers are looking for a true SUV and should come visit us at Hodge Dodge in Paris.
