Public Bathrooms with See-Thru Walls
This unique landmark was unveiled in 2012 and has become a major tourist destination in the Sulphur Springs area. These restrooms resemble a large mirrored box in the middle of the city’s Courthouse Square. First impressions can be deceiving though, because this glass is designed to act as a one-way mirror. So, as you step inside of the restroom, you can actually see outside! (However, no one can see inside – so you still have privacy.) Enjoy the liberating experience of feeling like you’re outdoors while you go about your business!
This quirky attraction might not be for everyone. But if you are on a road trip through Sulphur Springs, it might be beneficial to stop here anyway! The Hopkins County Courthouse
The Hopkins County Courthouse is one of the most historically influenced aspects of Sulphur Springs. It sits in the seat of Hopkins County and is extremely aesthetically pleasing to gaze at. The architecture was designed by a San Antonio-based architect named James Riely Gordon around 1894.
The Hopkins County Courthouse building has been added to the National Register of Historic Places since 1977. It underwent a major restoration in 2001, making this place even more beautiful. The area is also extremely family-friendly, and during the spring months, it is filled with greenery and an amazing ambiance! For more information about this destination, check out their Trip Advisor review of a perfect 5-stars. Would you like to stop by for a visit? The address to this courthouse is 1200 Houston St, Sulphur Springs. As promised, this government building will be anything but ordinary to look at.
Hopkins County Veterans Memorial
Going above and beyond to capture the true pride of our great nation’s war heroes makes the Hopkins County Veterans Memorial a top priority. For a city of only 15,000, Sulphur Springs is home to one of the most beautiful memorials in the entire country. It is located in the Celebration Plaza of the downtown area, conveniently placed next to the courthouse. Therefore, you will be able to see all three landmarks in just one car drive! Receiving a 5-star review on Trip Advisor, this attraction is definitely on that you should plan to visit today.
