When you are in high school, there will be many opportunities to do things and a lot of them you probably will not care about doing. There are a few things that you should definitely do before graduating though or you just might regret it in the future.
Don’t Skip Out on Prom
Prom will always be one the most memorable nights of your life. All the friends, dancing and just having fun. Prom may not be the most fun thing you will ever do, but it will probably be the last high school dance you attend and the last time all of your classmates will be together. You get to dress up and feel fantastic for that one night. You don’t need that perfect date, or even that perfect outfit to experience the right of passage that is your senior prom!
The Yearbook is More Important Than You Think
Yes, yearbooks are expensive these days but getting one and getting everyone you can to sign it will give you something to look back at 10 or 20 years in the future and remember all of those people and their words that they wrote to you. You may even have a few people sign unexpected things. It may even give you something funny to show your kids years into the future (imagine if your math teacher is still teaching when your KIDS are in school)!
Making Amends and repairing burned bridges is very important. Once you are out of high school, you are most likely going to run into the people you disliked the most while there. In the future, we never know where we will end up. They could eventually become someone you have to interview with or become your boss. After high school, all of those groups disappear, and we all are out in the real world so even if you run into who your worst enemy was in high school, it probably will not matter. One of the easiest ways to break the ice would be to have them sign your yearbook and write something nice it theirs!
Many people leave high school believing that it was the best years of their lives, and for others, it could have seemed like the worst years. Either way, it is a good idea to make sure that you end on a high note and make sure that you don’t regret missing out on these once-in-a-lifetime opportunities! The staff here at James Hodge Dodge wish you the best of luck on your future endeavors!
