Paris, Texas the Movie

This film was made in 1984 as a drama film directed by Wim Wenders. It stars Harry Dean Stanton, Dean Stockwell, Nastassja Kinski, and Hunter Carson. The screenplay was written by L.M. Kit Carson while the playwright was done by Sam Shepard. It was co-produced between companies in France and West Germany, but the movie was filmed in the United States.

The Plot

The plot focuses on an amnesiac who, after wandering out of the desert, tries to redo his bond with his brother and seven-year-old son. He and his son end up going on a prolonged journey through the American Southwest to track down his long-missing wife. We don’t want to tell you the whole movie, but just know that it’s a film that you’re sure to love!

Prizes Won

The film won the Palme d’Or at the 1984 Cannes Film Festival from the official jury. It also won the FIPRESCI Prize and the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury. You can get the film on DVD and Blu-ray by the Criterion Collection.
